To ensure correct proportions, every one of our formulas comes with a manufacturer-provided scoop. Please only use the provided measuring spoon to dose in the proper quantities, ensuring your baby always receives the appropriate nutrients.

We offer two specialty formulas:

HiPP Comfort formula is for babies with digestive troubles, unregular bowel movements, gas, constipation, and colic issues.

HiPP Anti-Reflux formula is for babies with regurgitation issues and spit-up.

The German and Dutch HiPP Combiotik ranges differ only in 1) packaging and 2) starch content:

Packaging: The Dutch version comes in 800g metal cans, while the German version is packaged in 600g sustainable cartons.

Starch content: The Dutch range is completely starch-free in every stage. The German range mostly contains starch, but some stages are also starch-free and are equivalent to the Dutch version:

HiPP Combiotik Stage 1 German → contains starch

HiPP Combiotik Stage 2 German → contains starch

We only sell the German version. Please note that both the Dutch and German versions are produced at the same manufacturing facility in Germany.

Prepare each bottle fresh, right before feeding. Mixed formula shouldn’t be stored in the fridge for later: bacteria can multiply even there.

What you can get ready ahead of time: boil water, let it cool to about 50 °C (122 °F) and fill it into a clean thermos, and measure the powder into a clean, dry container. When your baby is hungry, mix both in the bottle, shake well, check the temperature and feed.

Switch step by step, one bottle at a time: on the first day, replace one bottle with the new formula, on the second day two, and so on. Don’t mix two different formulas in one bottle, and prepare the new one exactly as its instructions say, with its own scoop.

Some babies hardly notice the change, others need a few days — sometimes up to two weeks. During that time, a sensitive tummy may react with a little more spit-up, gas or a change in stools. A new taste can take a few tries, so be patient.

Drip a little formula on the inside of your wrist: it should feel pleasantly warm, not hot. The right drinking temperature is about 37 °C (98.6 °F), body temperature — a thermometer helps if you’re unsure.

Use fresh drinking water and boil it before preparing infant formula; if it comes from the tap, let it run for a moment first. If you prefer bottled water, choose one that is low in sodium and minerals and suitable for babies — formula already contains all the minerals your baby needs.

In the first months, your baby can drink as often and as much as they want — every baby’s needs are different and can change from day to day. The amounts in the feeding table are averages for babies of that age, so a little left in the bottle simply means your baby is full.

Hunger signs: smacking or pursed lips, turning the head to search, restlessness, whimpering — crying comes last. Full signs: pushing the teat out, turning away, pushing the bottle away, yawning. Noting the amounts over 24 hours gives you a good overview.

Not in the first year. Plant drinks such as oat, soy or almond drinks can’t replace breast milk or formula: they don’t provide the nutrients a baby needs, and many contain added sugar. Before the first birthday, neither cow’s milk nor plant drinks should be given as a drink.

Little Formula sells the German versions of HiPP and Holle formulas: HiPP Combiotik (cow milk), HiPP PUR (whole milk), HiPP HA (hypoallergenic), HiPP Goat, the specialty formulas HiPP Comfort and HiPP Anti-Reflux, and the Holle cow milk formulas — from PRE for newborns up to toddler milk.

If only the carton or outer packaging is dented or damaged, and the silver foil seal is intact and has not been punctured, the product is perfectly safe to use.

If your formula arrives so badly damaged that it is leaking or the contents are spilling out, please take clear photos of the damage immediately. Do not throw away the damaged product until you have submitted a refund request to our customer service team and received approval.

Please include sufficient photos showing the damage, the product, and the packaging with your claim. If you are unable to provide enough photos or cannot provide any photos at all, we will not be able to approve a refund or send a replacement.

Please store formula in a cool, dry place indoors, away from heat sources and sunlight. Please also do not store opened formula in the refrigerator, as the powder can become damp and spoil there. Never freeze formula. Properly storing formula can help ensure it remains fresh and safe until the expiration date on the packaging! Opened milk formula should be used within three weeks.

Every formula order comes with a batch report showing the batch number and expiration date. You don’t need to do anything — we archive all batch numbers and, in the unlikely event of a recall, we will contact affected customers directly. We provide this extra level of transparency for your peace of mind. To our knowledge, no other online formula shop offers this.

The expiration date is printed on the bottom of the formula container in German date format (DD/MM/YY, for example: 31/12/26 = 31st December 2026).

We guarantee a minimum of 6 months of shelf life on all formula you receive, although most products have a much longer expiration date. You can view the current batch expiration date on each formula product page.

Feed a bottle of formula right after preparing it and use it within one feed — about 30 minutes, one hour at most. Short breaks for burping are fine, but after a longer break or a nap, pour the rest away.

Never keep leftovers for a later feed and don’t keep bottles warm: bacteria multiply quickly in lukewarm milk. If your baby drinks slowly, prepare smaller portions and mix a fresh one when needed.
